The Firestone Firehawk Wide Oval is the replacement for the very popular Firehawk SZ50. It is the high performance flagship of the Firestone product lineup. The Firehawk Wide Oval achieves maximum grip by utilizing the latest in Firestone tread compound technology. This tread compound contains a molecular re-engineered carbon black which is reinforced with silica to enhance wet performance and tread wear. The Firehawk Wide Oval tread design helps to further increase wet performance by incorporating circumferential grooves to reduce hydroplaning. The tread blocks are designed to provide uniform contact pressure which maximizes both wet and dry handling and reduces irregular wear. An internal nylon spiral wrap completely encircles the tire and helps the Firehawk Wide Oval to maintain its roundness for high speed capability.
