The Bridgestone Blizzak WS60 is the latest iteration of "Winter Biter" tire and is a showcase of both Blizzak and UNI-T technologies developed by Bridgestone over the years. At the center of these technologies is Bridgestone's Tube Multicell compound. This compound contains many tiny tubes, which help to wick away water and improve traction on slippery roads. In addition, this compound is also layered over a traditional winter tire compound. This allows the WS-60 to function as a winter tire even after the portion of tread containing the Tube Multicell compound has worn away. These compounds are molded into a directional tread with a wide center groove and zig-zag 3D sipes to enhance wet traction as well as traction in the snow.
